About me

I work with stories at moments of transition — where emotion meets structure, and where classical narrative forms collide with contemporary media systems.

I am a screenwriter, narrative researcher, and lecturer, currently based in Berlin. My work moves fluidly between film, series, and digital-native formats, informed by both academic research and hands-on industry practice. Whether developing a psychological thriller, teaching screenplay structure, or experimenting with AI-assisted story development, my focus remains the same: understanding how stories shape identity — and how truth emerges through narrative form.

My academic background is rooted in media and cultural studies and professional writing, and I am currently completing a PhD on ‘The Narratology of the Modern Screenplay’. Alongside this research, I teach screenwriting at the Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology in Berlin and at the University of Cologne, and regularly speak on contemporary storytelling at international conferences — including a recent talk at Oxford University.

Professionally, I have developed original projects for broadcasters and production companies across Europe and have been selected for programs such as the Netflix Writing Academy and the Netflix Fiction Incubator Europe.

As a writer and creator, I am particularly drawn to elevated genre storytelling that operate on multiple levels: emotionally immediate, structurally rigorous, and thematically precise. In that context, I have also helped develop and produce the 2024 feature film CUCKOO by Tilman Singer.

At the same time, I have worked extensively in emerging storytelling formats. As Lead Promo Writer and R&D contributor at PocketFM, I have helped develop and adapt digital serial narratives for new platforms, contributing to projects that reached large audiences and generated significant commercial traction.

This experience — spanning cinema, streaming, and algorithm-driven environments — continues to shape my understanding of how stories function under radically different conditions of attention, scale, and distribution.

Across all of this work, I see storytelling not as a single discipline, but as a transferable way of thinking. The same narrative principles that guide fiction writing also apply to non-fiction, biography, and the narratives organizations tell about themselves. Increasingly, my work explores how these principles can be consciously designed, taught, and adapted — especially in the context of new technologies and AI-assisted creative processes.

I build stories across formats — from cinema to the algorithm — always with the same goal: to create narratives that resonate emotionally, hold up structurally, and remain meaningful in a changing media landscape.
